AMD Fluid Motion Frames Comes Out on ROG Ally
AMD Fluid Motion Frames is coming to the ASUS ROG Ally and it enhances video smoothness by filling in missing frames, akin to adding drawings in a flipbook to create a more fluid animation.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames Officially Out
AMD Fluid Motion Frames is now officially coming to the ASUS ROG Ally on April 25th, but some people have access to the update already.
AMD Fluid Motion Frames, or AFMF, is a technology that helps make videos look smoother.
Imagine you're watching a cartoon where some scenes jump or stutter because some frames are missing.
AFMF works like magic by filling in those missing frames.
This means when you watch something, the movement is smooth and it's much nicer to look at.
It's like when you're drawing a flipbook and add extra drawings between the pages to make the action look more fluid when you flip through it.
However, this can also cause some games to lag as the software isn't perfect.
Because it is generating frames that don't exist and it might take a toll on the system, depending on how demanding the game is.
